Superhot Wing Recipe for the Superbowl
This Superbowl Sunday, don't settle for boring wings. Spice up your Hot Wings with gourmet hot sauces that offer serious punch.
Recipe
4 lbs Chicken Wings, prepared to taste
We recommend Kenji's recipe at SeriousEats, which has an option for both a stovetop and an oven method, but you can use any method you prefer.
1 stick of butter, melted
1 cup of hot sauce
We recommend doing a mix of 80% tangy base sauce, like Marie Sharps Habanero or Born To Hula Cayenne, plus 20% of a hotter sauce, like 2 The Moon SB7J or Extreme Karma
Hot pepper flakes, to taste (optional)
A fresh sprinkling of pepper flakes creates a nice visual finish and adds an extra kick. The perfect use for our Hot Pepper Grinders.
Once the chicken wings have been prepared, simply combine the melted butter with the hot sauces, and toss the finished wings until evenly coated. At that point, add the hot pepper flakes if using.
